Connect a Google Sheet

You share one spreadsheet with LogBreeze — like inviting a collaborator. We do not ask for access to your whole Google Drive.

How it works

LogBreeze uses a special Google address (a service account). You add that address as an Editor on the sheet you want. Only sheets you share are reachable. Everything else in your Drive stays private.

This is the same idea products like Fivetran use for Google Sheets: share with an email, then paste the sheet link.

Steps

  1. Copy the email above (or from LogBreeze → Sheets → Add from Google Sheets).
  2. Open your spreadsheet in Google Sheets.
  3. Click Share (top right).
  4. Paste the LogBreeze email, set access to Editor, and send. If Google warns that the address is outside your organisation, choose Share anyway.
  5. Copy the sheet link from the browser address bar
    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/<ID>/edit…
  6. Back in LogBreeze, paste the link (optional: tab name), then tap Connect.

What LogBreeze changes in the sheet

  • Reads your header row to build columns.
  • Adds one hidden id column so edits and deletes stay matched. Your other columns are not renamed.
  • Writes new rows when you save entries in the app.

Create a brand-new sheet instead

Prefer a clean file? In the app choose Create from template. That path uses a lighter Google sign-in and creates a spreadsheet LogBreeze can edit without sharing an existing file.

Troubleshooting

  • “Cannot open that sheet” — Share wasn’t saved, or the email isn’t Editor. Open Share and check the address.
  • “Full Google access isn’t open…” — You’re on the old OAuth path. Use share-with-email or create-from-template instead of Full access.
  • Wrong tab — Leave tab blank for the first tab, or type the exact tab name from the bottom of the spreadsheet.

Privacy

Spreadsheet data stays in your Google account. See the privacy policy. Questions: support@logbreeze.app.
